Dependent control of the mandatory position of classification terms

The demands of controlling/reporting on accounting are increasing. A current enhancement refines the options for additional account assignment control on the G/L account. The mandatory position for a classification term can now be controlled depending on a classification term that has already been entered.

This function can be used, for example, so that when posting the cost centre “Vehicle fleet”, a cost object (=car) must always be specified as a mandatory additional criterion. This is crucial in order to enable a detailed evaluation of individual vehicles in cost centre management.

The mandatory position is always controlled by a specific base object, such as an individual cost centre or a range of cost centres. The new function remains leading in the entire posting process: If a G/L account provides for the mandatory posting of a classification term, this must be specified. If this is not done, the preallocation takes effect. This is followed by the checks using the table “Dependency check for classification terms”.

The dependencies of related classification terms can be defined flexibly via the table. Three methods can be used for derivation:
Method 1: Mandatory (general definition)
Method 2: Mandatory and additional check of the cost object type and/or group
Method 3: Mandatory definition via an individual user exit

The function can be restricted to certain posting codes or accounts, which offers a high degree of flexibility in the design of the posting processes.

This new function offers the possibility of designing and controlling posting processes even more precisely and efficiently, which ultimately creates the possibility of more detailed analyses and enables better cost control.
