Working in the PORTOLAN EVM system requires a technical year-end closing, which provides all year-related settings for the new fiscal year.
For the vast majority of customers, the fiscal year corresponds to the calendar year. Therefore, you should consider this in a timely manner.
The technical year-end closing includes the system-supported creation of carryforward values for financial accounting and asset accounting, as well as the carryforward of year-related master data to the new fiscal year.
In addition, other settings must be checked to enable work in the following fiscal year. These include:

         – Opening of the new fiscal year (e.g., 2026) in financial and asset accounting (period master records/sales tax period                   master record)
         – Closing of the 2024 fiscal year in asset accounting
         – Year-related table settings             

                o Document number assignment
                o Locking of plan years and release of future plan years
                o Year-related table settings for index values (replacement index, insurance index)
                o Possible customer-specific tables with annual reference
                o Annual interface controls (import/export of data)
